The Positive and Negative Thread
Hidey Hi Campers!

Coming up against our bogey team Everton of the back off our worst game of the season so far it was important that we put in a performance today. Below are some of the positive and negatives I took from the game - feel free to agree, disagree or add your own.

Positives:

Biggest positive for me is the energy and work rate of the whole team. The fat oaf whose name I refuse to say since he left is often credited in the media for having a well drilled, hard working, fit team. Now this isn't a thread about that cancerous cunt, but it is noticeable how much more hard working and fit we are. Gone are the tiring in the last 20 and letting in late goals every other week. Not once did it look like we would concede in the second half, the team from front to back work like... Like something that works really hard.

Linked with the above was our defensive performance. Apart from the goal which came from a silly mistake, Adrian wasn't troubled. Reid and especially Tomkins were excellent.

Noble and Kouyate were solid as they show to their detractors exactly why they are keeping their place in the team. There were a few times when we could have done with one of them to drive us forward, especially towards the end of the game as Everton tired in the last 20 and gaps appeared in midfield, but both with start our next game v Spurs and rightly so.

Moses and Lanzini were too both excellent today with Moses rightly getting the man of the match award. He fooled dangerous going forward and his defensive and holdup play were also bang tidy. Lanzini continues to impress and scored a cracker too.

Payet made a mistake for their goal and got injured so by rights should be in the negative column, but I still loved watching him play. We are lovely to watch at the moment and Payet oozes class with some sublime touches - a player that will be on show boat more weeks than not with another couple of moments of brilliance today has made me love watching football again.

In fact forget the hard work bit in the first positive. The biggest positive of all has to be the love I feel for this team again, the enjoyment I get from going to games again. Watching us try to play the right way, watching skilful players not just cloggers. I thought I'd never enjoy football again but within a few short months I've started looking forward to going again and love being proud of my team.

Negatives:

Two injuries to two important players. Dimitri didn't look too serious, but the annoying thing was that if the wet behind the ears ref had been firm on early blatant yellow card fouls then his injury probably wouldn't have happened. A refs job is to protect players and this twonk failed pathetically. McCarthy should have been on a yellow by that point already.

Once Payet went off we looked a bit lost for ideas. Movement up front was poor. We really miss Sakho and in January I think we really need a similar type player. Carroll just makes us play a different way, a way that is more static and nullifies the attacking 3. Sakho creates space for those 3, Carroll does the opposite. Would Chelsea swap him for Remy?

Cress well and more so Jenkinson stil look off the pace. Maybe because they both had such a good season last year it's more noticeable, but they really need to improve.

Valencia wussed out of a couple of challenges. One he could have either ridden and been through or took the hit and got the defender a definate yellow. A few minutes later Moses did exactly that as if to highlight how a man plays football. The second time was ironically the challenge he got injured in. I fucking hate players the are pussies and he looked a pussy the short time he was on the pitch. I still want to see him as the front man and think he can be a big player for us but today he bottled it!

All in all I think we were the better team and came away happy with the performance overall. A point is good against a very good team and another point toward safety whilst playing entertaining football.

On to the next one against Spurs... Which if anyone has two spares for I'd like a whomail from. X

Calling someone a cancerous cunt isn't wishing cancer on them.

I would've thought that was quite obvious.

"Cancerous cunt"!

You are a deeply unlikeable person 'Polite' wishing cancer on a another human being.

Supporting this club, sometimes I feel like a moderate muslim looking on in abject horror at all the vile murderous things the mad-eyed extremists claim on behalf of the same religion.

If you actually wish cancer on someone else, who probably hasn't done you any actual real harm, you really need to grow up and get therapy fast because the cancer is clearly within you.

Who do we have to replace Payet when he is out?

Do you think Lanzini could do it?
Zarate?
Song could perhaps move up to a more forward position?

Positives - We have some real exciting players such as Payet and Lanzini which are a joy to watch. Lanzini's goal was sublime.

We have a manager who is passionate and honest.

Negatives - the injuries we picked up. And Carrol who is either no where near match fit or doesn't give a fuck - which I doubt as Woy has made it clear that the internatonal door is open for him.

I thought Noble was worse than solid to be honest. Average is more apt but others might even suggest that's generous.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread
Hammer and Pickle,

Yes the overlap thing was weird. Both Cresswell and Jenkinson had numerous chances to get beyond their winger and didn't take one of them. In fact, I'd wager it was a tactical instruction as Cresswell, especially, seemed to be thinking about it on a couple of occasions and then to change his mind. This isn't an attempt to criticise Bilic at all, but I just find it curious. If it was what they'd been instructed to do, then I struggle to see the benefit of that.

For me the only negative, apart from the injuries which we had no control over, was Carroll. Statuesque. If we want to out the claret and blue specs on then I suppose you could say it was a positive that we didn't revert to long balls just because he was there, but on the flip side that just further exposed how he no longer seems to fit in the side. I'd take a bag of chips for him in January right now.

We also looked a bit lost without Payet. But apart from that, a thoroughly encouraging performance. I even thought Zarate and Jelavic looked ok, but maybe I'm just so happy about the football right now that I'm being more forgiving than a lot of people seem to be. Everton, who as we all know we have a terrible record against recently, only really troubled us once and that was down to a mistake which I honestly don't think Payet would have made had he not been crocked by McCarthy.

Without that, and the subsequent second reshuffle with Valencia going off, we'd have won that game. A point isn't a disaster, but that said how nice is it to see a team setting out for the 3 all the time. Very refreshing.

The biggest positive for me so far from the whole season has been that we've been unlucky in games like today, awful against Watford, and have also had probably sub expectations results against Bournemouth and Leicester. Why is that a positive? Because even with all that, and with Song to come back, plus Valencia, Ogbonna and Obiang having been limited due to injuries, we've still set up camp in the top 6. We're not over achieving - we're top 6 in November with room for improvement.

Happy Hammers!

Positive: work rate all-round and desire to keep the ball - big step in the right direction here.

Negative: failure to really work the flanks - look at how a proper team like Bayern do their overlaps.

Hahahaha. ........really is that why you wanted Noble dropped for this game?

Noble played a shit 1st half and average second half.

As for our energy I'm sorry but you ain't got a clue we looked lazy and slow today. Our movement was non existent for most of the game.
